This is the recipe I use to make curry powder. It's not too hot but redolent of eastern spices - try it and let me know what you think.
- Difficulty
- EASY
- Preparation time
- 5 minutes (30 minutes if you grind your own spices)
I prefer to grind my own spices so that they are as fresh as possible, but pre-prepared powders work fine.
Note: One standard tablespoon is equal to 3 standard teaspoons and 15cm3
Ingredients
Amount | Measure | Cm3 | Ingredient |
5 | Tablespoons | 75 | Ground Coriander |
2 | Tablespoons | 30 | Ground cumin |
1 | Tablespoon | 15 | Ground turmeric |
2 | Teaspoons | 10 | Ground ginger |
2 | Teaspoons | 10 | Mustard powder |
11/2 | Teaspoons | 7.5 | Ground black pepper |
1 | Teaspoon | 5 | Ground cinnamon |
1/2 | Teaspoon | 2.5 | Ground cloves |
1/2 | Teaspoon | 2.5 | Ground cardamom |
1/2 | Teaspoon | 2.5 | Ground chile pepper |
Instructions
Add all the ingredients together in a small jar and mix well. Seal the jar tightly and it will last 2-3 months.
